It seems that where Devin is concerned, this is the most that the Fool can reasonably ask of Trahearne, at least for now. He's reached a line that he knows better than to cross, or push against further than he already has. "I have heard you," he assures his friend sincerely, "and will not dismiss what you have told me."

A pause, before he smiles again tentatively and suggests, "Let us change the subject. Will you show me more of your magic?" A marginally safer topic, he suspects, and he has no desire to part ways with Trahearne on bad terms.
