At that point, Trahearne had managed to get the package inside their room, and was in the middle of cutting open the cardboard box with a blade small enough that he was almost wishing he had a sword. This 'cardboard' type of paper was something of a novelty to him, but having to struggle with it was making him doubt its inherent usefulness.
"Just a moment!" He hadn't even realized that his delivery was still blocking the door. Moving to the other side of the box, he grabbed hold of the edges and managed to drag it out of the way, little by little. Trahearne was too twiggy to make quick work of it, but he did at least succeed in making enough space for the door to open.
