Pepper giggled quietly, suppressing a louder laugh so she didn't accidentally drop the frame. "It's how Ikea packs all their furniture - everything ends up flat like bricks so it's easy to store," she elaborated.

The latter comment got a scoff. "We don't have that much stuff. Besides, the whole moving-in thing and carrying your own stuff around at least once is like a right of passage."

This did not strictly mean one had to do it, but especially growing up in New York the process of moving was often a memorable one (if troublesome - parking was a real problem, and lack of elevators).
