Bobby didn't know Valdis well enough to guess if her fear was real or genuine, but the demon was not in the habit of underestimating anyone. If Valdis was edging towards the sword, she must know how to use it - and Bobby was currently without her own weapon at beck and call.

Should she allow Valdis to reach the sword? There wouldn't be much more time to debate that question until she reached for it anyway, and Bobby considered what Enochian she could use to her advantage. In a fight, it would be hard to use it deftly.
