Something about her words seemed to catch Bobby's attention in a different way than she expected. That look, the blood that rose and fell, the quickly calculated evaluation of weaponry. Valdis herself had two daggers in her right boot and one disguised as a necklace around her neck. Perhaps overkill for one with her skills, but habit didn't die and sometimes it came in handy when her primary weapon wasn't at hand. She doubted Bobby was as unarmed as she seemed.
