Alice is right to be wary of Atticus, who fits that description to a T, and not for those reasons alone.

He smiles a little more, though his attention hasn't wandered away from the ship and its deteriorated exterior. "I have gleaned enough," he replies mildly. He follows the line of the waterfront towards where the nearest Sentry stands at her post; she is far enough away that any chance of her overhearing their conversation is remote, but not so far away that Atticus cannot see her browsing on her yimo.
