Characters: X and Zephyr
Date: backdated to somewhere around July 25-31
Location: Devin's apartment
Situation: Bobby had X captive for a few minutes, during which she broke his wrist and caused internal bleeding. X held together to try and minimise the emotional fallout for Devin, but he needs an outlet, and Zephyr has been that for him before.
Warnings/Rating: Possibly some discussion of torture, but mostly hugs and cuddles.
X doesn't argue when Devin doesn't let him leave. All it takes is the faint idea that Bobby might be waiting right around the corner to make his pulse quicken and his breathing raspy -- X doesn't think he'd leave even if Devin wasn't there. Not until all the temporary Dreamfolk vanish.
But it means being strong, being cheerful, and being reassuring, all of the time. It means constant and ongoing reminders to Devin that he's not the reason Bobby went after X, and even if he was, X would never hold that against him; that X would not ever trade knowing Devin for not being in pain one afternoon. It's all true, of course, and always will be; but X is used to being surrounded by mutual support. In Devin's state, he can't expect Devin to be the other half of that support any more than he can expect a broken bucket to hold water.
In the hours after being healed, X is more homesick than he's ever been, and it's that feeling which drives him to text Zephyr and convince Devin to let the man come over. He's not sure how much longer he can handle before emotional exhaustion catches up with him.
