Zephyr had told Devin, at one point, that he went home to sleep.
This was mostly true. He went home most of the time. It was just that sometimes it seemed like a long walk, and he could just slouch down in the chair and rest his head on the back and catch a few winks that way. He was in the middle of one of these very long naps when the very small portion of his mind that was paying any attention whatsoever alerted him to movement.
And a voice.
A few seconds after X sat up, Zephyr bolted upright, overbalanced, and wound up sprawling on the floor. He lay there for a few moments, acquainting himself with the dust, and painfully pushed himself upright. "Just me."
