Valdis laughed bitterly at the mention of risk, cringing at the sound, but continuing anyway.

"What's more risky, vampire?" she shot at him, "A magic that might not work, or an insane creature on a rampage?"

The Void could ignore whatever pain she was in, it preferred a vessel to a host anyway. She gritted her teeth, pressing herself against the wall like it would support her sanity. The edges of the turmoil in the city nipped at her mind like needles.

"Just do something." She pleaded, her words fading into a whimper.

Hila just stared at the vampire, wishing she could do more to help.
