He does not answer Trahearne immediately--not because he has elected to ignore him, but because his mind may as well be miles away for the moments he remains connected to the tree. By the time he seems to snap back into himself, blinking back into lucidity, Trahearne has arrived by his side... and the Fool turns to look at him rather dreamily, as though not quite seeing him yet.
"What beautiful creatures they are," he muses aloud, then smiles and looks to the tree again. "Beautiful, and strange."
