annihilist: (Really now)

Although Devin is glad to know the Fool is safe, the call he received was not one he either expected or relished. He doubts that the Sentry is interested in keeping them for long, and indeed he's told he can come collect his partner. The assumption that Devin is somehow a more responsible party to release the Fool to is-- well, not entirely laughable, but certainly ironic.

The thought of the Fool sitting in a cell for any longer than absolutely necessary makes his heart ache, so he wastes no time in heading to the indicated Sentry station. Alice is a stranger, but it seems he'll meet her soon enough. It takes longer for him to arrive than it might usually - the streets are still a mess in some areas. At the front desk, he explains what he's here for and is promptly escorted towards the holding cells.

Devin can't decide to be relieved or displeased, and settles somewhere in between. On his face, though, is a mask of resigned amusement. "I am going to assume there is a very good explanation for this," he declares.
