Rikkan seems to be less agitated than Valdis, so the nurses give her a wide berth and ask him for details. She notices the thorns right away, releasing a few more swear words in a language only ancient history would recognize.

"He's not even that attractive," she grumbles, much to the confusion of Rikkan, who had come to her side to tell her he was leaving. She nods in acknowledgement, trying to decide why this is happening.
