If Devin didn't know Klaus as he did, that glare would have had more of an outward effect. As it is, he's fully aware of the seriousness of this situation, but there's a facade to maintain. Laughter ceases, but he doesn't quite bow to the glowering.

I'm not an idiot, nor do I take entertainment from endangering innocent people. I admit to needling, but I haven't made a single strike here." Though he could have tried to defuse the situation more quickly - it hadn't seemed necessary until the second golem appeared. "Not that I particularly blame you for your hatred," he adds to Trahearne. "I'd kill me if I were you, too, just outside."
