Characters: Chase and YOU
Date: throughout April
Location: aaanywhere
Situation: someone fleeing from him in terror?! + seeing someone in the rain who shouldn't be here
Warnings/Rating: n/a
A. (crime 3)
[Chase was walking innocently along, on his way to nowhere in particular, unsuspecting, until his day is interrupted by an Aifaran native who hands Chase something, apologizing profusely, before running away in terror.]
[.........It's not what it looks like.]
[In fact, Chase has no idea what just went on, either. The thing that the terrified person handed him was his wallet, which he hadn't even known was missing—he hadn't thought anything of it when someone had bumped into him earlier, he'd just apologized and moved on.]
[He's looking through his rhinn in puzzlement when he finds a strange coin that he must have picked up from somewhere. (Probably because there was a skull carved into the front and he found it pleasing.) But this is the only thing in the wallet that's abnormal.]
[And maybe he shouldn't be holding it out where people can see.]
B. (meta 1)
[Maybe it's this rain. But lately he can swear he sees a woman from time to time, right after waking up. It's one of these times (he doesn't have an umbrella, naturally), that he stops dead in his tracks. He's seen her enough that he calls out this time—]
Kiriko.
[There's no response, because of course there isn't. But he might have caused someone to bump into him, maybe.]

Everything okay?

[Should probably check on the other guy instead, good sir.]
[But for now, he palms the coin as he crosses his arms.] He had my wallet. But he gave it back.
[...And then he gives Yato a side-eye, because he’s heard of scams that are conducted in “stages”—] You are not an accomplice? [—So he just comes right out and says it. Welp.]

Huh, that was nice of him??
[ It takes Yato a moment at being straight accused like that, but he laughs. ]
No, just someone who was curious! Or nosy, I guess.
no subject
I do not think he was being nice. [Someone nice would not have taken it in the first place...]
You did not know him, then?
no subject
[ a beat ]
Do you know him?

[He opens his palm to look at the coin again, debating whether to talk to his Sentry buddy about this. Back home, he'd always felt that he could go to his cop friend Shinnosuke for most anything, but on the other hand, Chase had always been the more knowledgable about Roidmude.]
...What is a coin used for, except for payment?
