Characters: Konoe and you
Date: May 1st
Location: Dreaming Bridge, randomly around the city
Situation: There's a very lost and confused catboy who's arrived in the city. This place is too strange for him to handle
Warnings/Rating: None yet, except for possible catscratches
~A~
The city of Aifaran and the Dreamfolk that now inhabited it were probably used to a variety of strange sights, and todays was a young man with cat ears and a crooked tail despairingly clawing at a wooden post. A shopkeeper had been breaking down his stall, only to find Konoe attached to the last piece he needed to take care of. He knew how to deal with mungas attacking people's ankles, but a person sized animal? No one was sure how to react.
Konoe himself was just sinking his claws into the wood trying to calm the anxiety of all the strange bright lights and sounds around him, his tail swaying nervously back and forth.

The next thing Konoe knew was that he was being accosted by some human-like looking creatures. He understood they were probably after money, but the only money he had was the stipend that was paid to newcomers. Konoe knew in cities like this not having money was a bad idea but his pride also didn't allow him to back down.
His fur was standing up and eyes narrowed into slits. "I said I had no business with you and to not bother me."
He was drawing his sword at this point, and the would-be muggers looked less than friendly. Maybe now would be a good time to step in for everyone's sake.
~C~--Closed to Zephyr--
This was exhausting. Konoe, thanks to the kindness of some Kin'nal and Dreamfolk, finally managed to find his way to the Dreaming Bridge where he supposedly had a room to stay. It was better than nothing, he musing, sniffing around the rest of the room and finding it surprisingly familiar like he was back in Bardo's inn. He only allowed himself a little bit of homesickness before picking one of the beds that didn't have a person's scent on it and curling up under the blankets.
He started grooming his fur, but the bed was so soft and comfortable that he soon fell asleep as a lump beneath the blankets, the tip of his tail slightly peeking out from under the sheets.

Wildcard? You have your own plan? Go for it.

"Am I...doing something wierd? You keep. Looking at me." Konoe didn't know what to say. At least the man wasn't trying to kill him or touch him or anything, but he wasn't used to being stared at. "And I don't need a comb."
no subject
He didn't have any stuff to settle, he was just looking for something to do with his hands.
Unfortunately, tact hadn't caught up with this tactic. "No comb? Doesn't your fur taste... I dunno, furry?"
no subject
He was really wondering if these ribika looking people really were Two Canes, but the ones he spoke to didn't recognize the name.

Even Lippy used a brush, which was always a fun sight.

It takes him a bit longer to realize he might be watching too much, and he glances away again. "...Sorry. I haven't met any cats like you before."

"Everyone's been saying that. I've never seen people like you before, but I'm apparently the strange-looking one," he growled, nearly nicking himself with a fang. Konoe froze again when he remembered what that other obnoxious man had told him, his tail curling up into a tight ball.
He had to ask. He had to know if that was a thing. "Do I-do I really look like a fetish? Like...?"
He couldn't even finish the sentence.

That train of thought is completely derailed by the question. "A fetish?" Wow, this is not the conversation Zephyr started having, and not the one he wants to be having. "Who's been telling you that?" As both a method of not talking about fetishes, and also potentially figuring out if there's anyone who might need a stern talking to.

He makes a note about a tall human, possibly with similar coloration. "Fetishes don't have anything to do with security." Leonne, is this punishment? Zephyr would do a lot to not be having this conversation, but he's stuck with the kid, he can hardly not help. "Sounds like he was trying to make his personal problem yours."

He scrubs a hand through his hair and considers. "If you see him again, I'd just leave. If he tries to corner you, hit him and get away. You've got good claws, it shouldn't be hard."

"He asked me to have dinner with him though." And unfortunately, Konoe was easily swayed by food.
no subject
...The last gets a genuinely concerned look. "Don't. That kind of asshole, he'll probably take it as an invitation. You don't want to be having dinner with someone like that, trust me." ...Kind of a laughable request given they just met, but whatever.
