Characters: Lobco & open
Date: Jan 30-Feb 2
Location: Various places
Situation: Lobco is new to Aifaran and just trying to figure things out.
Warnings/Rating: None. If any occur this will be edited.
scenario a
[The prospect of other planets and travel to them was a common one back in Pitch World. Indeed, thanks to the fact that she was familiar to a rather powerful witch, Lobco had been to another once before. Yet it was one thing to consciously go to a place you had studied for many years in the company of a companion, and another thing altogether to just
Suddenly appear somewhere.
The first thing that had struck her was how bright Aifaran is.
Home home was bright. It was beautiful, sunny, and tropical much like this place...but the past couple years had found her by the side of a witch who resided in a place that really lived up to its name, a place where the sun never shone. Which meant the poor thing was having quite a bit of difficulty navigating. Her eyes were rather weak and sensitive enough as it was but she'd barely had time to adjust as she attempted to navigate her way towards the 'Dreaming Bridge' as she had been informed.
Lobco looked behind her, thinking maybe she should have asked to be accompanied before deciding against it. She still wasn't sure what to trust or to believe, and she wasn't exactly comfortable with strangers. She turned her head forward, squinting and trying to keep her head a little lowered, only to lightly bump into someone in the process.]
O-oh! I'm sorry.
scenario b
[Lobco couldn't honestly say she had gotten accustomed to the situation yet. She worried. She worried about why she was here, she worried about how she would get home, she worried about how her witch and fellow familiars were doing, she worried what Hijohshiki might do to them if she continued to remain absent. So many possibilities, no way of knowing the truth.
All she could tell was that they were still alive. That magical thread that connected them all together remained intact--weakened, as she could get no sense for where they were, and thus, where she was, but they were alive.
Lobco needed a breather after so much happening, so much information being tossed at her, and being among so many strangers. It's only natural that she's drawn to the ocean. It has been a very, very long time since she's been able to actually be in saltwater. The sound of crashing waves is a melody, and her antennas twitch, then curl in appreciation as she looked out upon the ocean, shining bright like a sapphire.
Despite everything, she smiles and her body becomes encased in light as she transforms. Where once she stood, there was now a tiny, bright red shrimp no bigger than an inch.]

b
Which, while innocent, proves critical.
She gasps at the flash of light -- and then stares for a moment because it takes her time to think to look down. When she does, though, she spots the tiny bright red shrimp. Her eyes, so wide, start to narrow.
Realization sets in. That girl, then, must have transformed into a... shrimp?]
Ah...

Animals like her are common home, so she has no inclination to hide herself for that purpose. She is, however, a little flustered at being caught unaware and a part of her wants to dart into the ocean but she keeps herself in place.
When she steels herself and gets a look at Ursula, she'd glad she did that--is it possible this woman is a witch? Her attire certainly seems to indicate as much, and despite her usual shyness, curiosity gets the better of her.]
Hello there!
no subject
The witch nods her head once. She resists the urge to extend a hand; after working with a goldfish, that resistance comes naturally.]
Hello! I'm sorry, you took me by surprise.
[She adjusts her hat -- and makes sure it doesn't blow off. It's windy out.]
I'm Ursula Callistis. A professor at Luna Nova--oh, but that's not really relevant here, is it? Hm...
no subject
It's a pleasure to meet you, Ursula. My name is Lobco.
[A pause, and he tail twitches a little hopefully]
I hope I'm not being too invasive when I ask this, but are you a witch?
no subject
[The little bow makes Ursula smile. She follows the motion, clearly, and her eyes widen with delight--though that's hard to see. Her glasses have a way of glinting, of covering her eyes. But the smile speaks volumes.]
Why, yes, I am! [She sounds pleased -- and then looks a little embarrassed.] Oh, did the hat give it away?

The person they see on the shore today is a new one, though, and while Padparadscha slowly makes their way in Lobco's direction across the sand, they don't quite get there before she turns into a shrimp.
It gives them brief pause, but then they smile a little, as if in amusement. It sounds like one of the legends...the ones that remained in the sea from their own world.]
Well, well, I thought you were a little enough one already, but then you got even smaller.
no subject
Their comment, however, makes her deflate a little. She hopes one day she can be as big as her mother, but she's a long way from that.]
Oh! Hi I. Well, I'm still growing! [That...was incredibly childish and she's glad that she's not in her other body otherwise she'd be having an expression of utmost shame. She's not even sure if that's true.]
But most of my kind are like this. Er. [Make it worse, Lobco]
I'm Lobco!
no subject
[Presumably not a human, or at least not a normal one. They're having trouble remembering the particular name of the species from their world that was supposed to be like this, though.
Padparadscha crouches down so they're more on Lobco's level. The movement is smooth, without the impression of anything like shifting bones or muscles.]
I'm Padparadscha. Is the sea your home, little one?
no subject
My name is Lobco, and I'm a shrimp! I do come from the sea, though, not this one in particular. It's nice to meet you, Padparadscha.
no subject
It must still be nice to see some kind of ocean, then. This busy city is a strange place to have to try to figure out.

For the most part.
When he feels someone bump into him, he simply steadies himself and looks over at her.]
No, it's fine.
no subject
Er, I hate to bother you, but by any chance is this the way to the Dreaming Bridge? [She had been given a general direction, but considering she has to operate half blind she's not sure if she's even on the right track anymore.]
no subject
[He raises an eyebrow.] Were you on your way there?
no subject
I was. I appeared in this place and was told I could get more information and help there. [Her expression becomes a little skeptical as she says that. Lobco doesn't particularly trust what she's been told. On the other hand, with the situation as it is, wandering around aimlessly while half blind could prove to be about as equally dangerous. She's just going to have to have faith no one is trying to do her harm, or lead her astray.]
no subject
[He doesn't blame the skepticism.
Toushirou nods in the direction of the Dreaming Bridge.] I'll take you the rest of the way there.

...You were squinting.
[Despite how declarative he makes it sound...that was actually a question.]
no subject
Oh. Ah, yes. It's proving a little difficult adjusting to this sun.
no subject
There is shade over here. [He moves to the left into the shade of a building, with the assumption that she’d follow.]
You were headed...to the Dreaming Bridge? [He just came from there, himself.]
no subject
I'm not from here, nor am I entirely sure how I got here...but some of the citizens told me I could find help and information there.
no subject
We are called Dreamfolk...people who come from different places. [He hasn't met someone who's had much trouble with the sun, though.]
Do you need...something to help you with the sun?

He was pretty sure he just saw a girl turn into a shrimp. Or...return to being a shrimp? Was that normal? Was this an Aifaran thing or a Dreamer thing? Curious, Leo walked up to the little shrimp, though he was careful not to get too close in case he accidentally crushed her.]
Uh, hi. Are you from around here?
no subject
No, I am not. I only just arrived here yesterday, in fact. Are you a native?
no subject
[It was a bit awkward talking with a...talking shrimp? That's what his eyes saw, so that's probably what she was. Leo was dangling the camera in his fingers, almost wanting to take a picture, but didn't want to invade the shrimp's personal space.]
Sorry, I haven't really talked to a shrimp before. I have seen a lot of different people-like one of my friends from home is part fish. So it's really not too strange. I'm Leonardo Watch, by the way.
no subject
[Despite everything, she couldn't help but focus on that camera. She wanted to ask him about it, but learning that he was relatively new here meant she had to focus on the important things first.]
Could you tell me more about this place? And why we're all here. I'm still pretty confused by it.
no subject
[Leo was curious about what type of world she came from that there weren't any humans, but if she was an actual shrimp, he could probably guess. Maybe there were more people like Zed somewhere; it might make him feel less alone if he knew.]
We're on a turtle's back living there, I think and from my understanding something bad happened so he sent us all back while he repaired the planes of existance. Now we're back and the world's more stable, but I don't think anyone knows why or how we got here.
Apparently the turtle can communicate telepathically, but I don't know anyone with that power.
