Closed to dumb dinos and birds
Characters: Eiji and Ankh
Date: Feb 7
Location: In a holding cell
Situation: This is what low Justice gets you
Warnings/Rating: None yet
For the record, Eiji was not guilty. He was sure this was just some kind of mix-up because...well, for some reason, a man in a purple tie-dye T-shirt carrying bright green-and-pink flowered boxer shorts around is really memorable and easy to point out to police.
The embarrassment would be easier to deal with if he didn't have to share a holding cell with Ankh, however. Ankh, who he's been keeping an eye on while also doing everything possible to avoid. Ankh, who betrayed him and his friends.
Ankh, who, if Eiji can help it, is going to stay on that side of the cell while Eiji's on this side, pointedly not talking to him.
Yeah. This is going to go well.

He's not bothering talking to Eiji yet. Though he is definitely keeping him in his sight, if mostly out of the corner of his eye.

But the fact remains that he has five Medals inside him, and he has not been doing anything toward getting rid of them or deactivating them--he hasn't wanted so much as "not wanted" things. And they've been their worst when he's under a lot of stress.
He feels a sudden flare-up and a twinge in his left arm again. Quickly, he grabs hold of his wrist, trying to will it to stay human.

The Medals, however, would like to contradict him, briefly shifting his left arm into a Greeed one before changing it back, not without a bit of pain.
no subject
"Turning into a Greeed is 'nothing' huh?"
no subject
"It's not like you care."
Forget silence. He doesn't have the patience for it.
no subject
"You're right, I don't."

His body sags from exhaustion, though, and he doesn't even react when the cop on duty places a cup of water inside for him.

"No, no, I'm okay. It's not that bad."
He does take that water, though, once again ignoring Ankh.

"No one asked you."
no subject
"No one asked me about whether I wanted to be stuck in a cell with an idiot, either."
no subject
Actually, no. He does not.
He throws his empty cup at Ankh's head.
no subject
And does the obviously mature thing and throws it right back at him.
no subject
"Do you really have to act like a child?" says the child who threw the damn thing in the first place.
no subject
"You think you can say that when you started it?"
no subject
"What about you? What about taking Shingo's body?"
no subject
Not that he doesn't have plenty of actual retorts to that, like the part about how he tried to take form again after Eiji destroyed three of his Medals and immediately started falling apart. But really.
no subject
Eiji knows his eyes are starting to flash again, and he's trying to keep his Medals under control, but it's not working out very well.
"Hina even said you could stay--how could you betray her like that? I could have figured something out!"
no subject
"You destroyed three of my Cores!"
If he could actually hold together by himself, then maybe he would have some kind of options, but no, someone left him with no choice.
no subject
He wasn't, and admittedly, that's probably more than he should have said. He'd gotten angry, tapped into too much power, and then the next thing he knew, he sensed the three Medals exploding.
"Your imposter kept saying he erased you! I had to try to separate you from him!"
no subject
"Do you think saying you did it by accident is an excuse?!"

Eiji screams in frustration for a second, slamming his fist against the bench, even with the officer outside yelling at him to keep it down in there. His hand hurts as soon as he hits it, but it's still a kind of welcome pain--despite what happened before, he is still human enough to feel.
It calms him down enough that he can talk without screaming again.
"I couldn't sense you anymore. I had no idea if you were still alive. I didn't know. I had to...do something."
His voice wavers for a moment at the end there. He's still human enough to feel. A lot more than he wants to admit.
no subject
still alive
But he's not alive at all to begin with, is he?
And why should Eiji care, one way or the other, really?
He doesn't say anything, just turns away. "Tch."
no subject
"All right, boys, you're both free to go."
The cell door opens up, letting them out.
