Situation: A large influx of Dreamfolk arrive in time for one of the Lunar Festivals, and they're all invited!

A surprising amount of Dreamfolk have arrived within a short time frame - a peculiarity remarked upon by a number of Aifaran's residents. It is unusual in that it coincides with a lunar festival, one which only happens every fifty or so years.

Newcomers will find the streets packed with all sorts of people, stalls of fried and sugared foods, carnivalesque games and rides, and all other manner of things to do. Merchants are very keen to get their wares out there, and the stipend given may just burn a hole in your pocket when you see what's for sale.

[ Bucky looks over his shoulder and then steps up to Valdis, offering her his flesh arm. ]

Rescue me?

[Valdis flashes him a sly smile, loops her arm around his and gently tugs him away from the woman]

I'd be delighted.

[It should be fairly easy to lose the woman in the crowd]

[ It's been a long time since he's had a pretty girl on his arm. It's... nice. He walks through the crowd with her. ]

Thank you.

[ He says in relief. He looks around and sees the woman thwarted. ]

Want to get something to eat?

[Valdis doesn't follow Bucky's gaze, but she suspects that the woman has given up considering the fact that her comrade had relaxed.]

I'm not exactly from around here. [She says teasingly]

So I suppose I'll follow your lead on that one.

[Surely there had to be a cafe somewhere nearby]

[ Bucky smiles crookedly. ]

Well, it is a festival, has to be somewhere to eat.

[ Not that Bucky knows where. ]

[She sighs heavily]

I suppose the only thing to do is wander until we find something that looks edible.

[Hopefully seaprunes would not be on the menu]

[ Bucky smiles, crookedly. ]

Well, we could, or we could follow our noses.

[ He nods ahead, where there seem to be smoke from grills rising into the air. ]

[Truth be told, Valdis was not inclined to eat something strange, and it wasn't as if she needed to eat to survive, but it certainly helped.

She lifts her head, drawing the scent of something savory across her tongue]

Well, it doesn't smell horrible, I suppose we can go check it out.

[ Bucky eats all. the. time. Super soldier metabolism sucks. ]

Well, it's here or the cafeteria. I can't recommend it.

[redlightgreenlight]

Well, if the cafeteria isn't recommended, then I suppose we should try some of the other local cuisine.

As long as it's not sea prunes, we should be alright.

[ He watches where he's going, weaving them through the crowd, toward the food stands. ]

[Valdis follows along, trying to ignore the excitement of the crowds. It was too contrary to her own feelings about being back here.]

That looks good.

[She tugs lightly on his arm and nods toward one of the stands.]

[ He allows her to tug him away, toward one of the stands. ]

My treat.

[ He's going to insist. And he gets two orders of whatever it is they're cooking. ]

[Well, if Bucky wants to be the gentleman and pay, Valdis wasn't going to argue.]

Why, thank you.

{She smiles and takes two of the kebabs, holding Bucky's until he is ready to take it from her.]

[ He pays and then takes his kebabs from her. ]
