Characters: Ankh and YOU
Date: Feb 4
Location: Around Aifaran
Situation: Scoping out the place
Warnings/Rating: None currently
Ankh has spent the time since he arrived here getting his bearings, scouting his new territory, learning what he can. It's all been disorienting, but the more he gets used to it the more he settles, and given everything that had happened back home, maybe it's good to be away from it all.
Except he isn't, really. Eiji is here. Ankh hasn't run into him yet, but he's sensed him, and Eiji must have sensed him too if he's been doing quite so good a job of staying away.It is still utterly strange to him that Eiji would have taken on enough traits of a Greeed to be able to sense him at all.
You might catch him hopping between rooftops or unexpectedly landing beside you after jumping off of one, with a burst of red feathers and shimmering wings that seem to disappear completely as soon as he lands. Or maybe you find him when he's taking a break from exploring and is perched in a tree munching on a popsicle, or tossing away the empty popsicle stick. He might have been aiming for the nearby trashcan and missed, or more likely just tossed it somewhere without paying attention. He was not in fact trying to hit you in the head with it. Probably.

She had been out for a stroll. On her way to the market to pick up a few groceries. Her cupboards were far from bare, but she'd been running low on her tea and those delightful little biscuits from that one shop she'd stumbled upon the previous week. Minding her own business when something struck her head. It didn't hurt so much as caught her off-guard, pissing her off to the degree that there was fire in her eyes as she spun on her heels in search of the offender. Darting her head back and forth at a speed that would give most whiplash.
"Alright, who's the wise-guy?!"
no subject
"Huh?" He didn't know what she was accusing him of, but he sure didn't seem like he cared about whatever it might be.
no subject
(Although, in her defense, he did seem to be the only one around.)
"Was it you?"
no subject
"Heh. If you want to accuse me of something, you should tell me what the hell you're talking about."
no subject
Hands on hips, she started tapping her foot in the most stereotypical manner one could picture. Though she did momentarily reach up to gesture to the back of her head, indicating the lingering ache from where she'd been struck.
"Attacking an old woman. The nerve! Lucky for you, my head's as hard as my nerves, or you'd be dealing with a major assault conviction, young man. Now get down here and own up to your crime!"
no subject
"Oi." He holds up his right hand, letting it rather threateningly turn into its armored form. "If I attacked you, I think I'd know it, and you definitely would."
no subject
...only for her eyes to widen, near inhuman screen escaping through clenched teeth as she recoiled back.
"WHAT KIND OF NEWFANGLED TECHNOLOGICAL NONSENSE IS THIS?"
no subject
...He looks up. Probable culprit spotted. "Why did you throw this?"
no subject
"I was done with it."
no subject
"That was quite a nice landing." There are hints of amusement and curiosity in Kei's voice. He doesn't seem perturbed at all.
Feel free to make up excuses for him to not get far if Kei won't interrupt
He says nothing and turns to walk away.
this is really stupid
Kei ignores the bibiru that came over to him, and walks over to the surrounded Ankh. "They seem to have taken a liking to you. It must be the wings."
no subject
"Hey! That's littering! Watch where you're throwing that!"
no subject
"Why should I care?"
no subject
"Because you're in a public space? Other people live here? Common courtesy??"
no subject
"Tch."
no subject
"Did you just click your tongue at me??" He totally did, didn't he. "It's not gonna be anyone else's fault if you get arrested or beat up for being a nuisance."
no subject
And yet, the burst of red feathers and the person landing beside her has her flinching into a ready stance, completely prepared to throw down. One fist is drawn back before she processes that he doesn't immediately look hostile.
Eve pauses. Doesn't put her hand down. "Um," she says. "Hi?"
no subject
"Heh."
no subject
But it's not a threat or an attack, just a matter of chance, so Eve puts her hands down and relaxes, offers a quick tight flash of a smile. "...Right," she says. "Come here often?" With a pointed glance up and down, as though to indicate the transit he'd taken.
no subject
"Learning the territory," he replies, as if that's a perfectly clear answer to everything.
no subject
The thing is, Eve wants to be offended, but she understands that motivation. She sighs. Shakes her head at him.
"And let me guess, part of learning the territory involves learning the elevations intimately, and not being subtle."
